Artist Statement

photos by Marilia Destot

I see myself as an explorer and a worshipper of the visual world.

Sculpting is for me a way of unifying what I see around me with what I feel within. While

challenged every day by experience, doubts and insecurities, my commitment to sculpture

remains constant, inspired and strengthened by my travels it has become my 'spiritual partner',

a way of connecting with humanity and conversing with life.Through sculpture I am seeking to

combine the subject matter with the abstract values of sculptural form.

'Relationships, Rapport, is the affinity between things, the common language, rapport is love,

yes love. Without rapport, without this love there is no longer any criterion of observation and

therefore there is no longer any work of art.'
